Premonitions Of Bride Who Bolted

\ WHANGAREI, April 30. n A full week after the event the last minute deeision of the bride not> to proeeed with her wedding' is still. the main topic of news in Kaikohe. Tetegraph and cable lines, and even the Trans-Tasman telephone, have been buzzing for the past two da"ys. ; Newspapers near and far have shown an unusual dqgree of interest in theo unfinished wedding. Miss Sally Wilson, of Te Iringa, near Kaikohe, was the girl who made her last .minute dash from the church last Saturday. The groom was Mr Jack Woods, of Ohaeawai. "The whole business has been a nightmare to me," Mr Woods told a reporter today. He had agreed to take over a 114-aere farm milking 70 cows. The farm had a pleasant house in whicli he had put more than £200 worth of furniture. Interviewed at her home last night, Miss Wilson denied current -rumours that she intended marrying any* other man. "I am still in love with. Jack, ' ; she said, "and 1 wbuld go- througn with it yet with hihi, only I don't waat to hurt him or liis people any more. 1 expect I sliall be known now as the bolting bride." Aslced if she had had -any reasons other than just . nervousness for her action at the church, she agreed that she had had "premonitions. " "I suppose people will only laugh at me for them, but there it is," she said. The premonitions had been a strange warning that she sliould not marry Mr Jack Woods. Sonie trouble would be forthcoming, but she was never clear what form it would take. The third of these premonitions had overtaken her as she entered the church, making her extremely nervous. This nervousness had increased until she hardly knew what was happening. Miss Wilson had been apparently a perfeetly happy and eager bride-to-be even up to the moriu ng of -ihe eeremony. _ •
