All Sundav papers feature articles concerning tlie allegedly sliocldng conditions suffered by migrants aboard the Frencli sliip illt* d' Amiens, during her ten weeks ' vovage from Marseilles. . Two holds of the ship covered witli tarpaulins, accomodated the third class passengers who said they had paid £130 for the passage. The vessel hrought 370 passengers, inrluding 130 dennan, Austrian, Ilungarian ahd Polish Jews, most of whom had lien interned in dennan concentration ••amps. The ship's officers twice refused to al'.ow pressmen aboard but when this was overcome. the passengers eageriy •oiiducted reportcrs on a tour of inspe.''ion. The lavatories and washrooms had not been cleaned during the voyage.. There was no water supply for thir 1 "lass passengers during the day. Captain Yves Pons said that the ship jiing companv was not resprmsible and that the "migrants were rnisled by the Luropean Refugee Association whieli had arranged their passages. "
