AUCKLAND, April 28. Prices at the season'.s fifth and final wool sale in the ^Auckland Town Hall today were steady to snghtly easier on the Dunedin market before Easter. Compared with the March auCtion here, values had dropped all round. Growers are mostly wistfui out not despondent. The offertng comprised about 26,000 bales, including .9500 bales of stock wools and 196 of slipe. The top forenoon price was 33id. ior four bales of Southdown comparing with the "high" of 50-4d. for a similar offermg at the March sale. Except for some classy lines, greasy wool was' mostly shabby, off colour and unskirted. Wools of the 1944-45-46 clips offered by the Joint Organisation were keenly sought by Bradford ouyers as the price range was generally lower than for new shorn xots, ,q.nd passings were few. Compared with recent southern values, the market for fine wools was at par to a shade easier in the forenoon.
