Fight With Bees in Midair
Received Monday, 7 p.m. LONDON, April 24. A pitched battle in niidair between swarms of angry bees — part of a consignment of four million — and the crew and 30 passengers in an airliner flying from Amsterdam to London, ended in defeat for the bees but with heavy casualties on both sides. Many passengers were stung and hundreds of bees w'ere swatted and killed by the time the airliner landed. Later when 150 crates- ' were being unloaded, more bees escaped, stinging porters and airport officials who fled and locked themselves in offlces.
