Informal Talks On Lifting Of Blockade

Received Monday, 7 p.m. NEW YORK, April 24. According to United Nations sources. high Soviet and United States diplomats are carrying on informal talks in an effort to fmd-a formula for lifting the Berlin blockade. It is understood Mr. Jacob Malik made the preliminary approaeh on the possiblg lifting of the blockade, to Dr. Phillip Jessup, a member of the United States delegation to United Nations, a few days before the session opened on April 5. Since tlien Dr. Jessup, who. is handling the question for the State Department, has been in Washington most of the session. Mr. Malik declined to eomment on the report tonight and Dr. Jessup was not available. A Berlin message reports that a British»lieensed nevvs agency in Germany said today that the Westexn Powers bad rejected Russian demands for the exclusion of Germauv from the Atlantic Paet as the priee oi lifting the blockade.
