AUCKLAND, April 20. Prices for heavy beef dropped 10s to 15s a head at the Westfield fat %tock sale. There was an average yarding of beef but auctioneers' quotations were approximately 2s a 100 1b down on ' values for last week's sale. In the sheep section where *an averi age yarding was brought forward, there was keen cpmpetition and prices firmed. Lambs also sold readily. Although there was a steady deniand for good quality calves, prices for all elasses dropped slightly. Pigs were penned in average numbers and all values remained steady. Cattle. Extr-a choice ox to £2 14s a 100 lb, choice and prime £2 10s to £2 13s, ordinary £2 4s to £2 9s. Extra prime young cow and heifer to £2 10s, choice and prime £2 6s to £2 9s, ordinary eow beef £2 to £2 5s. Extra heavy prime steers £22 10s to £25, heavy £21 7s 6d to £22 7s 6d. medium £20 to £21 5s, light £1S to £19 17s Gd, small and unlinished £15 to^lV 17s 6d. Extra heavy prime cows and heifers £15 5s to £16, heavy £13 to £15, medium £11 to £12 17s 6d, light £9 to £l0 17s 6d, small and unfinished £6 to £8 17s 6d Sheep.
