ASSISTANCE BEING RUSHED.
Received Thursdav, 12.38 a.m. LOXDOX, April 20. The Admiralty stated today that the destroyer Consort liad coine under lieavy fire from field artillery when she was steaming down the river from Nanking to II.M.S. Aniethyst. She replied effectively to th'e fire. The cruiser London, 10,000 tons,' 'was expeeted at Shanghai from the sea this afternoon and would go up river with the least delay. The frigate Black Swan was also proceeding up river from Shanghai to the assistanee of the Arnethyst.
