Personal. Mr. and Mrs. R. Travers, of Hamilton, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. V. J. Bateman, Grand Street, over the weekend. Successful Church, Dance. The -Ladies' Guild of the Ven. Be'de's Anglican Church held a very successful dance in the Barish Hall on Easter Monday night. It has been the practice of the guild in past years to hold an Easter dance and its functions, through the efflcient manner in which they are conducted, have become very popular with the dancing public of the district. Easter In Shannon. By car, "bus and train, Shannon followers of the "sport of kings" journeyed in force to Feilding -on Saturday and Monday, with the result that few people remained about town on those days. The excellent weather which prevailed over the holidays attracted many to the seaside and the cities. In all, Easter in Shannon passed rather quietly. There were a number of visitors to the town and several local. people took advantage of the long weekend to go further afleld.
