Women's Division Holds Its Annual Meeting
The annual general meeting of 'the Otaki-Te Horo branch of the Women's Division was held recently, when there was an excellent attendance, including several new members. Miss D. Avery presented the joint secretaries' report on behalf of Mrs. D. Corrigan and herself, and it was a most comprehensive survey of the activities of the branch during the past year. A separate report of the work in connection with entertainment of the sanatorium patients was read by Mrs. Moore as convener of this sub-committee. The treasurer's report and balance sheet, prepared by Mrs. M. Holmes an'd audited by Mr. W. Morton, was adopted and showed a most healthy state of financial affairs. Mrs. S. Blackburne then presented her report as president, in which she thanked all members of her
committee and branch members who had helped her in all ways during the year and also the honorary auditor and the Press for their- co-cperation. The election of officers for the ensuing year resuited as foTows: — President: Mrs. S. Blackburne; vice-presidents: Mesdames C. P. Jensen and F. E. Swabey (life), Miss D. Avery and Mesdames V. Cottle and R. Jenkins; hon. secretary: Mrs. D. Corrigan; hon. treasurer: Miss D. Avery; 'delegates to provincial council: Mesdames S. Blackburne, K. Taylor and D. C. Blake; advisory members: Mesdames C. Walker and M. Simcox; general committee: Mesdames A. Aldworth, A^hworth, D. Blake, M. Holmes, L. Smith, C. Sutton, K. Taylor and F. Thorpe; hon. auditor: Mr. F. W. Box. Invitations were received to the birthday parties of the Otaki Women's Institute aird the Waikanae Beach Division. Mrs. Jenkins made an appeal to members to send flowers to the Wellington R.S.A. prior to Anzac Day, and it was arranged that the Te Horo members should support the school collection for that purpose and Otaki members should take-their flowers to Mrs. Thorpe's ■ home for packing on the previous Friday or early Saturday morning. It was decide'd to hoid the next ■ Otaki meeting, which wifl be in June, in the Druids' Hall. A most' enjoyable afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames H. T. Mould and J. Vincent.
