Much Borough Work Said To Be Wanted
"FORESIGHT."
Sir,— I offer my congftytulations to the' nine . candida.tes Vdo have offered their services for the welfare of the borough. Tb auyone who goes about with his eyes ••hpen it can plainly be seen that -the town suffers from neglect, apparently due to complacenqy on the, part of the residents /Or the want of foresight from the CouncilChamters. There are many things wantipg attention, but priority should be given to: (1) Sewerage and stormwater disposal (Levin is 50 years behind the times-' in this connection) ; (2). a. weekly or. for.tnightly collection of househoM refuse (ra^s abound in. the .borough . and wih continue tb 'do so until hougehold refuse is collected) ; (3) an , endeavour shou1 d be made to provide some form of bus service (Levin' is growing rapidly and, owing to an early error in lav-out, with bections much too large, the town covers a wide area) . I am sure the candidates now standing for e'ection wili agree that many things of vital impartance require attention, inc'uding the footpaths, and that ratepayers are entitled to expect value for their money. Be -ter to pay £1 more in rates per annum and get something done than to pay rates as at present and get nothing' done. Yours. etc..
