Domain In Keen Demand

No fewer than five applications for the u§e of the Otaki Domain were ,.-before the Otaki B.orough Council on Wednesday night. The Otaio. Football Club, the Rahui Football Club, the Rahui Ladies' Hockey Club, the Rahui Men'.s Hockey Club and the Horowhenua Rugby Union- all wrote requesting the use of the ground throughout the coming season. The latter organisation made its customary offer, on this occasion 10 per cent. of the gross gate takings, by way of rental. The Otaki Football Club was granted Tuesday and Thursday for practice night, and Rahui Club Monday and Wednesday, with the clubs to show consideration by not using the ground if conditions were unsuitable. The applications from the hockey clubs were granted, whake the ■rugby union is to be asked to pay 20 per cent. of the gate takings, this amount having been offered by it last season.
