Railwayman's Promotion Causes Resentment
WELLINGTON, April 15, The president of th.e Amalgamated Society of Kailway Servants. (Mr, .r. Barton) and the vice-presidest (Mr. W Parks) "will arrive in Wellington on Tuesday to discuss with Wellington branch offieials the reeent appointmein on 'appeal of a junior member to a graded position. The appointment wa;discussecl at a special meeting of the Wellington braneh last night. - The branih chairman in a statemert todav said: "The feeling. of this well attended meeting was of keen resent •ment, and as it was considered that the appointment would yitally atfeet the in terests of all members of the A.S.R.S.. a resolution was carried that a speei r: meeting of the national executive be called to diseuss the position. The resolntion was communicated to th~ national president at the close of th.e meetings the president advising that he. and the vice-president would arrive in .Wellington on Tuesday to meet local branch offieials. " '
