A wqman w^s ki led iys.anUy and her husbarrd and 'two small daughtefs are now in the Wanganui 'Hospital." Those involved were': — Killed. GLADYS. AMELiA" SfVtALLER, aged 43, motheT of seyen children, Injured. DOUGLAS VALENTINE SMALLER, fre'ezing worker, r husband of the 'dead womeri and driver o.fthe car; fractured ribs and head injuries. HEATHER" SMALLER, aged 14; head injuires and concussion. DOREEN SMALLER, aged nine; shock. Mr. Smaller's baby rental car passed a Wanganui-bound bus about 20 yards from the brrdge at he Thirty-one Mile Peg, but missed the bridge and dived over the bank into the shaiow stream. Bus passengers removed Mr. Sma1ler, who was unconscioua, and his daughters from the car under great" 'difflculties. Three months ago Mr. Smaller was the driver of a van which rolled 100 feet down a bank off ihe rcad near Hunterville. He then suiierea a fractured shoulder and ribs. '
