Porotawhao W.I. Meets
The April meeting of the Poroutawhan' Women's In^titute, at which there was a satisf actory - attendance, was presided over by Mrs. ; A. M. Scott. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames K. • Hannam, C. N. Ramsay and J. O. ; Stewart. A letter was read from the Otaki institute inviting members to atfend its birthday party. Mesdames W. C:rle and W. Strode-Penny were elected as delegates to the council meeting at Paremata. It was decided to revive interest in drama, Mrs. R. Green being asked to convene a meeting of those interested. The day's motto, forwarded by Mrs. Ramsay, was: "Do your best and leave the rest; no good will come of worry." The competitions resulted as follows: — Bottled fruit: Mrs. Carle 1, ' Mrs. Scott 2. Best Bloom: Mrs. Speirs 1, Mrs. G. Vickers 2. Shrub: Mrs. Lumsden. Vegetable: Mrs. Littleton. A guessing competition arranged by Mrs. Carle was won by Mrs. Vickers. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, May 12.
