For the benefit of organisations or persons interested, this information has been rposted on the notice board in the Municipal Library. Football Seasoii Commences. Tomorrow wlil see the -first game jof the 1949 football season played on the Shannon Domain when a local senior team will play a friendly match with a fifteen representing Massey College. The attendance at the practices have been goo'd and it is expected that Shannon will field a strong team this season. As this is the club's jubilee year, all will be anxious for the various teams. to make a good showing in the Horowhefi.ua competitions. . v Moutoa Young Farmers. - ArrangSd by the Moutoa YOung Fariners' Club, a lecture will be delivered in the Moutoa Hall on Monday evening by Mr. H. J. Fox, veterlnary surgeon. Mr. Fox will outline the life and care of the cow froin the time it is a calf until it becomes a milker. The .subject should* be a very interesting one and the club extends an invitation 'to all farmers to be present. The Y.FjC. dances, which were so popular last year, will be commenced tomorrow evening in the Moutoa Hall. The Horowhenua Highland Pipe Band will be in attendance.
