WELLINGTON, A&iV 7. The Price Tribunal. was satislied that whoiesale merchantsR had had enoligh time to clear stocks of fooastuffs, wines and spirits which were imported before the exchange rate was restored to parity, stated the Minister of Industries and .Commerce, Mr. Nordmeyer, this evening. He was commenting on a notice today's Gazette specifying May 1 as' the datei from which present aiithorised whoiesale prices for any remaining stocks of fhese commddities, mtist be ahiended to exbiude from the costs the difference between the eatlier and chrfeht rates of exchange. The MiniBtef said othet comlhodities woiild be the subjebt of deadline dates. Imported hardware and soft goods were at present under investigation and dead-line dates, after which exchange reductions must apply, would be announced in due course.
