ASHBURTON, April 7. A tragedy occurred in the Ashburton Public Hospital this morning when a child was found dead in the children 's wqrd with his head caught between the bars of a cot. The victim was ( LESLIE BANKS, of Rakaia, aged 2 1 years. It appears that the child was left for only a vfiry short time but when the nurse came by she found the boy with his head between th6 bars. Aftihcial respiration and other assistance wfts given immediately but the eft'orts proved fruitless.
