The Mayoress, Mrs. H. B. Burdekin, left today to spend a two months' holiday in Australia. Mrs. Hilda Ross, M.P., has been endorsed as the National Party's candidate for the Hamilton seat in the coming elections. Mrs. Ross won the seat in a by-e^ction early in 1945, following the death of the National member, Mr. F. Finiay, and held it .at the last election in 1946.
