New Boxing Instructor For Levin Club
A visitor to Monday night's annual meeting of the Levin Amateur Boxing Club was , Mr. C. Warne, boxing instructor to the Kiwi Club, Palmerston North. He was welcomed by the secretary, Mr. W. C. Childs, who remarked that Mr. Warne would be in Levin for some months and womd make his services available to the local club. The club was certainly not overloaded with instructors, commented the president, Mr. J. W. Rimmer, in associating himself with Mr. Chi ds in the welcome to Mr. Warne. He had had instructions from his club to endeavour to arrange an "overnight" meeting- with Levin, said Mr. Warne after thanking the secretary and president for their welcomes. These were conducted as match bouts, with two onerhinute rounds. No decisions were given and the object of the meeting was merely to match the boys evenly, he went on. Such a meeting had been arranged with the Pahiatua club on April 23, and Mr. Warne considered it an excellent idea if the three clubs c.ould rneet. . This suggestion will be given further consideration by the 'committee.
