AWARDED £150 FOR LIBEL

Kravchenko's Claim Against CGmmunist Weekly Reeeived Tuesday, 10 a.m. PARIS, April 4, Vietor Krayphenko, the Russi&n -refugee author, was awarded a total -of £150 in damages against the Oommunist weekly, Les Lettres Francaises, and two of its editors today. The editors, Claude Morgan and Andre Wurmser, were in a'dditjon flned £5 eaeh, The court also ordered" them to print its decision on the front page of Les Lettres Francaises. Kravchenko had sought damages amounting to 10,000,000 francs (£9437) from the paper, which al,^eged that Kravchenko was not the author of the book "I Chose Freedom," and that the book did not give an authentic picture of life in Soviet Russia. The court ordered Morgan to pay into court costs totaliing .6,000,000 francs (about £5.638) .
