American Court's Sentence On Czech Reduced

Received Friday, 9.50 a.m. LONDON, March 31. The United States Miiitary Governor in Germany, General Lucius Clay, has reduced by 15 .years the 20 years' hard labour sentence for spying which an American miiitary court last February imposed on Frantiser Klecka, a 31-year-old Czech, says Reuter's FrankfUrt correspondent. Klecka was tried ih sfccret. It was the first of five American trials against a Czech spy ring. Some of the secret evidence was released today. It suggested that Klecka t had been in the employ of the j N.K.V.D. — tihe Russian secret police.
