NAPIER, March 31. The stabilisation of wages at award rates in all trades is to be sought by the New Zealand Master Butchers' Eederation. At the annual conferenco in Napier a reinit to this effect Was adopted. The proposer, Mr. W. 8. Tiughes (Canterbury) contending that traders throughqut the countrv had to - "-auetion" hmong themselves for staff, the highest bidder being suecessful. Stabilisation was not being observed with the result that trade was experiencing extreme difficulty in securing etaff, said Mr. A. J. McCready (South Auckland). The immigration of skilled butchers to New Zealand was supported by the conference and representations nre to be inade to ihe Government to sponsor the Bcheme.
