London Wool Market Shows Improved Tone
Received Friday, 11.30 a.m. LONDON, March 31. London brokers state that when the London saies were continued to'day the offerings totaPed 21.000 bales, inciuding 9000 from New Zealand. There was a distinctly improved tone to the market, with competition much stronger than last week. Although the Home trade was still the principal buyer, the Continent showed greater interest in good style lots and consequently prices for fleece of fifties quahtyl and finer were 7J per cent. dearer than last week. Lower qualilies were in the sellers' favour, but skirtings were; somewhat irregular. Prices forj lambs were unchanged, while a1 limited offering of scoured cross-1 breds sold well. There was a good: clearance of a large number of growers' clips. t
