Mr. Kehoe was -a member of the Upper Hutt association prior to his transfer to Whakatane. In SpOnsofing the appeal the association seeks to faise money for the education and welfare of Mrs. Kehoe's child ahd to provide a free hOuse for her. A consider^ble amount of money has already been collected by the association, whPe various merchants and suppliers have kindly offered t6 Supply a large part of the materials required for the erection of a suitable house. The locai appeal closes on April 9 and citizens wishing to contribute may leave donations at "The Chronicle" Offlce.
