Lady Bowlers Experience Busy Week
Last week was a busy but enjoyable one for members of the Levin Ladies' Bowling Club. At Foxton on- Tuesday two rinks, cbmprising Mesdarries Cormack, Tilyard, Mitchell and Henderson (s) and Mesdames Rolfe, Wiiliams, Shell and Mudgway (s) , took part in a ga a afternoon. On Wednes'day three -rinks from Island Bay and two from Vogelmorn clubs were entertained on the local green. Results were: — Mesdames Fanning, Seddon, Lacey,' Hartstonge (s) 16, lost to Mrs. Backhouse' Vogelmorn rink 26; Mesdames Rolfe, McKinstry, Henderson, Mudgway (s) 17, 'drew with Mrs. Lees' Island Bay rink 17; Mesdames Cheesman, " Tilyard, Gardner, Stevens (s) 31, beat Mrs. Lawton's Vogelmorn rink 12; Mesdames Shell, Wiiliams, Wickens, Hayes (s) 28, beat. Mrs. Griffin's Island Bay rink 13; Mesdames Routley, Andrews, Lett, Gibson (3), lost to Mrs. Drake's Islan'd Bay rink 28. Playing at Seatoun on Thursday, the Levin ladies' junior rink, Mesdames Rolfe, Routley, Cormack and Renkin (s), beat the Seatoun junior rink 25 — 10. Mesdames Andrews, Wickens, Stevens and Henderson (s) played two games against Seatoun rinks, the aggregate scores being 24 to 23 in Levin's favour. Playing for the Maple Leaf Brooch, Mrs. Long beat Mrs. Routley and for the Mary Ann Brooch I\lrs. Rolfe an'd Mrs. Routley played a drawn game.
