MASTERTON, -March 30, The honour of being the oldest resident ^of the Wairarapa and probably in New- Zealand belongs' to Mrs. Bella Putuwai, or Mrs. Puki as she is generally known, who has reached ner- 109th birthday. Proof of her age lies in the fact that she worked. as a child for Mr. •ahd Mrs. Thomas Guthrie, pioneer white settlers of Castlepoint, who arrived there in 1848.'
