Palmerston North Wedding Of Levin Interest
A wedding of local interest' took place recently at St. Patrick's Church, Palmerston North, when Kathleen, youngest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. P. Vallender,' of Rongotea, was married to Brian, | second son of Mr. and Mrs. , A. ,Doyie, of Bruce Road, Levin. Rev. jFather Cashman offlciated. I The bride, who was given away jby her brotner, ,Mr. Joseph VallenI derv looked charming in a white, I satin brocade gown cut on classical ilines. Her veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom and she carried a bouquet of white gladioli,- roses and carnatiohs. Misses Maureen and Noleen Clausen attended their aunt - as bridesmaids, wearing apricot ninon over satin of a like shade. They, wore apricot and blue sprays in their hair and carried bouquets to tone. . The bridegroom .was supported by his elder brbther, Mr. Patrick Doyle, as best man a.pd Mr. W. Mossop, cousin' of the bride, as: groomsman. During the signing of the register Miss Matheson sang "Ave M'aria." On leaving the church the bride was presented with'a lucky horse shoe by little Beth Gledhill. At the reception held in the Coronation Hall, Terrace. End, Mrs. : Vallender received her guests wear- - ing a cinnamon brown frock y/ith ! brown accessories. She was assist- ! ed by Mrs. Doyle, who wore a navy : nioracain frock with white accessories. The beautiful three-tiered cake was inade by the bridegroom'S mother and iced by Mr. A. C. Kennerley, of J.evin. Wheii the happy couple left on a motor tour the bride was attired in a turquoise blue suit with. white ! spray. - * ' The bouquets and sprays were ■the work of Mrs. L. Vallender, aunt of the bride.
