Bo-wling Match Next Saturday will see the playing of the annual Town v. Country match on t'he Shannon green. This is a fixture in which the town clubs of the Manawatu Bowling Centre play the country clubs. There should be a good attendance of visiting bowlers. Mangaore Golf Opening > The official opening of the Mangaore Golf Club's 1949 season will take place on Saturday. This club's fixtures have always been popular with visiting golfers and a large gathering is expected. Considerable work has been put in on the greens, and the opening day promises to be a good start to a very successful season. Foxton Catholic Church Opened A further milestone in the history of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Foxton, was pass'Sd last Sunday when His Grace Archbishop McKeefry opened the new church. Although the church is not altogether new, it is the original building extended and renovated. The opening ceremony was carried out on Sunday afternoon in the presence of a large gathering of parishioners and visitors. A number of Shannon adherents and friends were present. Carnival Notes,..
