Blair Tennent was select-r ed' as the National Party candidate to contest the Palmerston Nortli1 seat in the forthcoming general elections. The result, which wasi announced at a well-attended gathering at ihe party roopis last night, was greeted with applause.1 Mr. Tennent" was congratulated by fhe unsuccessful nominees, Messrs. I G. Mills, W. H. Brown, L. I., Plimmer and L. P. Robert; who pledged their 'support for Mr-. Tennent in1 ,he coming campaign.
