Reikorangi-Waikanae W.I.'s Annual Meeting
The annual meeting of the Reikorangi - Waikanae Women's Institute was held in the St. Luke's Hall, recently. The president, Mrs. Deakin, welcomed Mrs. Eggers, of the Southern Wellingtori Federation, who conducted the annual meeting. The Secretary's report showed that the year had been a busy and successful one, with membership maintained and attendanees. at .meetings good. The treasurer, Mrs. ]H. Brown, presented the balance sheet, which 'disclosed a healtliy fina'ncial condition and a favourable balance. j A feature of the year's activities Jhad been- the regular despatch of ifood and soap parces to the link , institute in Britain. Mrs. Mowbray , won the competition for the points prize for the best b'oom. It is pr.oposed that an effort be made during the coming year to . raise funds Ifor a donation towards the Dominion headquarters building fund. Members were reminded of . the forthcoming arts and crafts exhi'bition to be held at Levin, and- it was decided to display suitable •articles at the May meeting. Mesdames H. Brown - and Bryant were |appointed delegat.es * to the-]annual eouncil meeting at Paremata on j April 28. I On taking the chair, Mrs. Eggers ispoke of the aims and objects of |the organisation and tendered sev-, leral helpful suggestions for the I coming year. She was thanked by !Mrs. Deakin. • \ | The following officers were elect^d for the ensuing year:— President: Mrs. Deakin; secretary: Mrs. Bryant; treasurer: Mrs. H. Brown; vice-presidents: Mesdames Jensen, Grigg and Kerry; committee: Mesdames Burgess, Dalzell, Mowbray, Smith, Scott and Tricker.
