Charged With Robbery With Violence
WELLINGTON, March 23. , Allegations that they had been stabbed and one of them robbed were made by two witnesses in ' the Magistratq's Court. Accused were Raymond Belgium Anzac Sykes, , ship 's fireman. i aged 31, and William Edward Ryan, labourer and seaman, aged 39. Sykes is charged that he used violence in robbing Clarence Patrick Lynch of £18. in a Vivian Street hoase on February 24. Ryan is charged with being an accessory after the fact to the crime alleged against Sykes. Both pleaded not guilty through Mr. W. V. Gazley. Mr. Goulding, S.M., is on the Bencli. The hearing was not fmished and will be eontinued tomorrow. The witnesses who alleged the stabbing by Sykes were Lynch and Henry Alfred Tamm, a car painter, aged 42.
