Mayhew, answering a question in the House of ComMons, Said that no consmtations concerning a Pacific pact liad been 8rr8(5i§G,(i'« In Washingtoii, the Secretary of State, Mr. Dean Acheson, said that proposals for a Pacific defence pact had not been brought officially to the notice of the United States Government. Reporters asked him_ if he had giVen any official consideration to the suggestion for a defence agreement between the nations of the Pacific. "No such pact has come before Us, but it may be on. its way. The matter is not in the stage of any xfficial consideration,' said Mr. Acheson. ,
