WANGANUI, March 24. Fatal injuries were suffered by a locomotive firemen when he was run over b.v a rake of trucks and a locomotive in the Marton Junction railway yards at 1.55 a.m. today. He was: Phillip Stoddart, single, of Takapau Road, Waipukurau, who was stationed at Palmerston North. Stoddart was standing beside the locomotive on which he had arrived from Palmerston North shortly before. The driverf shunting the trucks on the adjacent track felt a bump and when he stopped found Stoddard beneath his engine. An ambulance was called from Wanganui three minutes after, but Stoddart,. who received medical attention from a Marton doctor, died on the way to the Wanganui Hospital.
