London Will Follow Napier's Lead in Wool

A feature of the market here is provided by crossbrpds following the Napier surprise earlier this week when heavy Russian buying increased priees by 2d per clean pound in many qualities, states the Iliternational Wool Seeretariat Speeial News Service. This has checked the easierr tendeney in medium crossbred tops as the trade expeets' New Zealand crossbreds in the London saies next week to follow the Napier lead. „ • It is impossible to sell tops either for home or export at prices in line with current New Zealand wool costs, but some of the lower prices lateiy quoted here have disappeared sinee Napier's strong lead- on New Zealand wool values. The price position on the Bradford top market is diificult to analyse in all qualities. In Merino there is scareely enough trade to tesi prices, but a slightly easier tone. in average style and fauhy.wools in Liyerpool last week and Adelaide this week, coupled with modified quotations from some South African wool selling centres. have had their effect on top prices in Bradford. Good style Merino tops are.generahy (irm at recent levels, but soine less stylish products are available ' at prices showing concessions on lateiy quoted rates. The same applies in New Zealand crossbred tops. Quotations for good style tops are: 70 's, super, 129d; 70 's, average, 121d; 64 's, A, 119d; 64,'s, B, 114d to 115d; 60 's, super, 102d; 58 's, 82d; 56.'s, 66d to 67d; 50 % 40d; 48 's, 38dj 46 % 37d.
