Annual Meeting of Kimberley Women's Institute

The annual meeting of the Kimberley Women's Institute was heid in the Kimberley Hall recently, Mrs. Dorne presiding: over a good attendance of members. . Appreciation of the" co-operation and great help that members had rendered her 'during her term of office was expressed by Mrs. Dorne. Special thanks were. due to- the stewards of the -various stalls,.,who had worked so willingly throughout the year, and also to the secretary, Mrs. Campbell, and the treasurer, Mrs. Evans. Mrs. Dorne also spoke of the great success the institute had achieved at- the Horowhenua A. and P. show .and the Levin flower show, where the judges had made a special report on tne institute's display. Before leaving the chair, she expressed her pleasure in being able to announce that the institute •had acquired 20 new members 'during the year. The points prizes .for the various monthiy competitions were won by Mesdames' Evans, Griffith and Aitcheson, while the president's special prize was won .by Mrs. Evans. ; Mrs. Grant, of Te Horo, was then asked to take the chair for the eiection of officers. The following iwere elected; — PreSident: Mrs. Hi j Osborne; secretary: Mrs. W. Benjning; treasurer: Mrs. T. Gilbert; committee: Mesdames Dorne, j Crowe, Small, Jepsen, • J. Grifftths, iMcGruar,- Smith • and Saint. Mrs. | Grant gave a sh'ort address. on institute work. and afternoon tea was then served by the hostesses.
