National Savings Deposits Rise In Levin
At the end of last week national savings investments at Levin totalled £42,730, which is £27,000 in excess of the -quota allocated for the year ending on -March 31 next. New accounts opened total 48, includine one new group of 16 depositors. Throughout the Dominion 347 of the 352 "quota" towns attained their weekly objectives. Annual targets have been achieved by -325 towns, leaving .27 yet to be successful. •Special efforts are being made to record a^l-00 per cent. success, as was the case last year. Investments since 'April 1 exceed £7,000,000, ' of which £4,000,000 resulted from the sale of national savings bonds. This indieates that the short-term investment provided by national savings continues to a-ppeal to all sections of the eommunity. The group movement has been; strengthened by the establishmenf of -425 groups and tbg .QPening .of 14,000 new .group accounts," makiri? , a total of 215,000 new group arn accounts in a period of eleven months. ;
