Projector Appeal Has Fine Result
Even the highest" expectations were exceeded when over £100 was raised at the shop day held at the Te Horo School on Friday last. Well filled stalls, enthusiastic sellers and generous buyers made the day ' one to be reffiembered. Brilliant though tlie sun was, it could not compete with the smiles of the committee and willing helpers responsible forcthe effort when the flnal result was made "knovfoi. The committee is gratefiil for the generosity of parents, with special thanks to Edwards Hardware for their very generous donation. Games and competitions filled the afternoon and, though parents went hnme with empty pockets and purses, the general thought was that a grand investment had been made for the future. Competitions were freely enter-e-d into and resulted as follows: — Iced cake: S. Clifford; cake: Mrs. W. Kirker; hamper: Mrs. Bracken; dinner: Miss Shirley Andrew; chocolates: Mrs. Arthur Jenkins; golliwog: B. Kearns; rabbit: Mrs. R. Johnson.
