Rahui Football Club Holds Annual Meeting

^ The annual meeting of the Rahui Football Club was held on Tuesday night, when there was. a good qttendance. Mr. E. H. Moffatt (president) occupied the chair, and gave an iriteresting resume of th'e club's varied activities throughout' the year, offering his congratulations to all those who had helped acquire the splendid run oi sucpesses .enjoyed. He thanked his fellow offl'cers for their loyal^upport, and suggested that it was evident by the attendance that Rahui would be fielding plenty of players again this year. The election of officers was then proceeded • with, many speakers paying tribute to Mr. Moffatt's ability and record, and he was asked to continue for another term. . Officers were then appointed " as follows: — ^Presidentt Mr. E. H. Moffatt; senior vice-president: Mr. H. Wylie; secretary: Mr. A. Morgan; treasurer: Mr. F. Rule; delegate to management committee of rugby union: Mr. A. Watts; delegates to union: Messrs. A. Knox, L. Smith, C. Pussell, H. Moffatt, R.^Kyle and H. Wylie; club captain: Mr. W. Bailey. Coaches were appointed for four Iteams. It -was evident from the number of players who responded to an appeal to enrol for the coming season, that the club will have rqpresentation equal to if not better numerically than last year. . Mr. Watts paid tribute to Mr. C. Pussell's fine efforts and results as coach of the third grade team last year. Mr. Pussell was appointed senior coach. with Mr. R. Kyle to

assist. Mr. G. Engel agreed to coach the junior team, Mr. J. Mudge the thirds and Mr. J. Stevenson the fourths. The meeting agreed to a proposal to start early this season, and a general practice will take place on the club's new ground at the racecourse on March 27, with the open■ing day on April 2. An early start is to be made with inter-club •games before the competition games commence, an'd visits are likely to be made to Kimbolton und Masterton among other places.
