Territorial Recruiting Well Below Target
Received Thursday, ii.lU a.m. LONDON, March 16. The. Searetary of War, Mr. E. Shinwell, toda^ said that he dia not regard recruiting for the Territorial Army as satisfactory. "We haveii t succeeded in obtaining the target niimber." , . . . . The Minister said that the totai recriuitment to the epfi pf F.ehruaify was 71,731, compared with a target of 150,000. The Territorial Army s totai strength at the end °f February was 62,883 males and 8848 females, comnared with 49,293 and 6013 respectively iast September.
