The hearing of a claim for haliP a share in a £4000 prize in an overseas lottery in which the plaintiff alleged that he had "a half share under standing arrangements of sharing tickets began in the Supreme Court today before Mr. Justiee Gresson. The plaintiff is Edward Alexander* Foreman, theatreLinanager, of Lower •' Hutt, and the defendant Ada Ann Jones, confeetioner, of Lower Hutt. Counsel for plaintiff said the elaihi was founded on the joint ownersbip of an overseas lottery ticket. Foreman claimed that he was entitled to an equal share in the ticket and that the ticket coming into the hands of.Mrs. Jones was presented by her or her agents and she received the whole of the proeeeds and denied plaintiff 's right to any portion of the proeeeds. Charles Keith Carpenter said he was present wheri Mrs. Jones was informed of the result of the lottery. Just before her being told somebody had said something to the effeet that she was about to hear some very \good news. Mrs. Jones had said: "Don't tell me we have won a prize," eontinued witness". Mrs. Jones, in evidenee, said that before the Melbourne Cup lottery she had not had dealings with Foreman
