Baby Autogiro Developed In Germany
Received Tuesday, 9.40 a.m. LONDON, March 14. A baby autogiro which can be strapped to a man's back and used to fly safely off a roof top has been developed in Germany, according to a British Ministry of Supply report. Details of the machine, called a "heliofly" and weighing only 38 lb., were included in the survey of the activities of German firms in producing autogiros and helicopters. Invented by.an Austrian engineer, th£ heliofly has two tiny engines added to the rotor blades, which can be rotated by hand.
