Prices Easier At Wanganui Wool Sale
. WANGANUI, March 11. The following is the official report of the Wanganui Woolbrokers' Assoeiation on the wool sale held today:— The third main sale of the season was held today before a full and representative bench of ' buyers. Competition was reasonably keen and well spread but at times rather erratic compared with the February sale. Prices were definitely easier but firni on late saies. All lambs' wool sold well, particulary Down cross. Although some lines were passed, the Joint Organisation did not secnre any wool. The affering of 28,596 bales was mostly late shorn wool not up to the standard of previous saies and comprised a large proportion of lambs ; wool and oddments. The following is the official range of prices: — Southdown, 58/60 's: Good 42d to 44id, average 40d to 41Jd, inferior 32Jd. .Fine Down cross, 56/58 's: Good to super 38^d to 4Hd, good 33d to 344d. Extra-ffine crossbred, 50/56 Js: Good to super 30d to 34S d, good 25d to 29M. average 22d to 24id, inferior 21 Id. Fine crossbred, 50 's: Good to supei _26Sd to 2Sd, good 22Jd to 25id, average 21d to 22id, inferior 17M to .19Jd. Medium crossbred, 46/50 's: Good 19id to 22^d, average 17d to 19£d, in ferior 14M to 163d. Strong crossbred, 40/46 's: Good 22|d to 25d, average 17id to 18Jd. Low cross'bred, 36/40 's: good to 24d. Fine cross hogget (shorn), 50/54 's: Good to super 27fd to 28d, good 23d tc 27d, average 21d to 223d. Dow-n cross lambs, 56/58 's: Good tc super 373d to 393d, average 31d tc 363d, inferior and seedy up to 253d. Crossbred latobs, 48/50 's: Good ..tc super 273d to 343d, average 23d tc 273d, inferior and seedy 16d to ' 21id heavy seedy lld to 15d. 0 Crossbred pieees: Good 19d to 203d averdge 17d to 183d, inferior ano seedy 15d to l63d. Cross'bred bellies: Average 153d tc 163d, inferior and seedy 12|d to 143d. Locks: Crossbred lOd to 14d.
