Born Tough

When a truck laden with two tons of coal backed over Paul Collins, one-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Collins, of Spring Creek, near Blenheim, all he had to show for it was the imprint of a tyre tread from his left leg, right across the body to the right shoulder and a few bruises. Left indoors while his mother went outsi'de to direct the coalman, the child followed unnoticed and crawled beneath the vehicle. The horrified mother saw the wheel of the heavy-laden truck pass over him, and rushed him to hospital. The youngfeter was discharged afiter an extensive examination had failed to reveal any injuries.
