Canon A. F. Hall Appointed Archdeacon Of Waiapu

GISBORNE, March 11. Canon A. F. Hall, vicar of Gisborne, has been appoinCed Archdeacon of Waiapu in succession to the late Arch-deacon H. W. Butterfield. This appointmerit was announced today by the ' Bishop of Waiapu, the Rt. Rev. A. N. Lesser. Other appointments announced are Rev. Poihipi Kohere, vicar of the Waiapu Maori Pastorate, Rev. A. H. Norris, vicar of Wairoa, and Rev. R. Anderson, vicar of Puketapu, to be Honorary Canons of the Calhedral Chapter. Canon R. Thall is appointpd to the Stall of St. Chad. The new Archdeacon of Waiapu was born and educated in England. Ordained in _ 1910, he worked for four years in London before coming to New Zealand. He held appointmenls in Havelock North, Woodville, Dannevirke and Opotiki before becoming vicar of Tauranga. He became vicar of Gisborne in 1931.
