Monthly Meeting Of Shannon Plunket Society
r ■ ■ At the February meeting of the Shannon sub-branch of the Plunket Society a letter was received from the Levin branch stating that the tentative levy for the Karitane Hospital for the Shannon subbranch' would be £9. It was resolved that this amount be drawn from the Karitane account.
A cheque for £15 from the MaciCarthy Trust was received from the Levin branch. The tender of Mr. Alf. Thomson for the painting of the inside and outside ' of the Plunket Rooms was aceepted and arrangements for repairs required to windows were left in the hands of Mesdames L. W. Wilson and C. Tremewan. The nurse's reports were received as follows:— "December: Five visits were paid to Shannon and 15 homes visited; 17 adults visited the homes visited; 71 adults visited the babies and four pre-school children. There were three new bab- ' ies. During January four visits were paid to Shannon, during which 13 homes were visited. Adults to the rooms totalled 54, with 52 babies and two pre-school children. There were seven new babies." . • It was pointed out that as satisfactory arrangements codld not be made to conduct a stall at the recent horse sports, a street stall would now be 'held on April 29. The necessary permission for holding the stall has been igranted by the Shannon Borough Council.
