Appreciating the advantages of 1 visual education 'and ' desirous bf ensuring that their children have the beneiijD- of* modern methods, , parents have set about the task of ! raising the necessary money to purcnase a sound film- projector for the Te Horo School. . t , A large and enthusiastic meeting 'was heid recentiy at- . which final 1 arrang^rhents were made for a shop day to be held at the scnool on Friday next. If the enthusiasm of those preseno and the promises of j those unable to attend extends to |-the district, there snould be little ' difficu.ty in raising the amount required with this one effort: Stall-holders were appointed as. follows : — Produce : Mesdsinies • A." Faith, J. Andrew, W. Marino and K. Spiers'; cakes: Mesdames A. V. Cottle, A. Bennett, T. Mansell and V! J. Cottle; ice cream .sweets, etc. : Mesdames j. Duncan and R., Johnson; competitions: MeSsrs. ' K.' Spiers, R. Johnson; C. MiUs, T. Mansell, J. Duncan and M. HaZerwood; afternoon tea: Mesdames V." Morgan, Robertson and, Melsaac. Further offers of as'sistahce' for stalls will be gladly' ^ccepted. All f oads are to be> carivassed and colilectors will call for produce and other donations ,if residents are'unable to deliver th'eni. A bottld drive is to be oonductdd )by schoolchildren and arrangements will be jmade to coilect bottles at the door: I Already many generous donations of goods have been received, and it is expected that there- wiH be th'e usual generous cash donations that are a feature of the public spiritedness of Te Horo residents. It is certainly evident that a busy and most enjoyable day is in store, and it is felt that there will be a record attendance on the day. The slogan adopted is: "It is the: child of today who is the citizen of tomorrow; help him to have all th'e advantages of modern education."
