Mirfch and melody share honours at the Civic Theatre on Thursday night in R.K.O.-Radio's gay com-edy-musical, "Beat the Band." Starring in the fllm is Frances Langford. Gene Krupa and his band are featured with Ralph Edwards and Phillip Terry. The story concerns the misadventu^es of a young band leader when he tries to get his band going again after the war. In "The Exile," the second attraction ,Maria Montez displays a surprisingly new talent — comedy.
