Council Declines Request For Temporary Building

"The extension of a commercial enterprise is no justification wnatsoever for this aop ication," said the Mayor, Mr. H. B. Burdekin, when a request was made to the Levin ' Borough Council last • night 'by McMinn Motors, Ltd., for permission to erect a temporary lubrication shed on leased railway land in the brick area. He did not see why the firm could not use part of its existing building for this addition, added Mr, Burdekin when mentionlng that Ihe council had already refused others and that a principle was involved. He reminded those present that a property owner only few chains away had been refused permission recendy to extend a pie shop. It was unaminously decided to refuse the request.
