The operation was earried out by Southern feeenic Air Trips, of Queenstown. It was deseribed today as highly suecessful. The supplies dropped should prove a pleasing menu for the expedition. They included sueh additions to ordinary plain camp fare as asparagus, coffee, and Worcester sauce. They were dropped by parachute and nre reported to have been retrieved in good order. A number of packages each weighing between 301b and 351b were dropped on each trip. The aircraft carrying the supplies left Queenstown at 6 o 'cloek yesterday morning on the first trip. Five trips were made during the day. Although there was a little fog on the West Coast for the first trip, this cleared and visibility was perfecl all day, the pilot being able to see Mt. Cook clearly to the north. The advance camps will probably- continue to be sup plied in this. manner in the coming weeks.
