PROMOTION OR THE SACK?
Received Sunday, 7 p.m. LONDON, March 6. Diplomats in every Western capital are asking whether it is the sae.k or promotion for Mr. Molotov. In Whitehall the ba.ance of opinion is that Mr. Molotov has been promoted. He may continue at Marshal Stalin's right hand with Mr. Vyshinsky, ihe vituperative orator, as ihe mouthpiece through which Stalin and Molotov will speak to the world. The British reaction to the news oi' ihe Kremlin reshuffle, as reflected in late editions of the London morning papers, was almostunanL mous only in the belief that this implied a change of policy. The news itself was splashed across the front- pages. Divided opinion, speculation and perplexity were characteristics of the comment.
